A Survey About the Needs of the Elderly Inhabitants of Geresdlak (Hungary)

Abstract

In Hungary between 1990 and 2014 , the proportion of people aged aged 65 and over in the total population ranged from 13% to 18%. These demographic processes suggest a further tendency to persist, for 2060 the proportion of this age group will increase to 29%. According to the datas of the Central Statistics Office, at Baranya County – in the past decades – aging was tipical. Behind these changes there are several causes, but the low reproductive rate, the increase of life expectancy and the migration from the county of those who are economically active are the main factors.
