Abstract

Indisputable fact, that there is essential difference between the present occupational education structure and the requirements of the labor market in the South-Transdanubian region. A system-transformation may approach to the solution.
Present case study summarizes the results of a research completed between 2004 and 2009. The research aims to give professional analysis of the above mentioned issue, furthermore formulates suggestions for social integration of the unskilled being crowded out from the labor market (among them mainly the Gypsies), and for the complex scopes of problems within area development.
This research examines Hungarian peculiarities, and studies South-Transdanubian region within. It makes a severe comparison with more successful states of the European Union considering educational policy. Its inferences - supported by statistical data - point out the faults of the vocational schools’ mechanism, the contradictions of the legal system and the training structure, and the specialist requirement of the economy. As comprehensive thoughts, it formulates actual ideas and tasks for all concerned organizations in order to create a modern, effi cient vocational education system affecting the whole society on a positive manner.
