Abstract
Today the workers’ skills significantly contribute to the companies’ success. This includes among others aptitude, professional experience, sensitivity towards customers, and pro-activity. In our globalized world the workers are required to have outstanding professional knowledge, but beside this, there is a need for additional knowledge related to law regulations, standards, sales promotion techniques, technical and informatics skills as well as foreign languages. In order to acquire such knowledge the actors of the labour market need constant, lifelong learning. The Serbian government implemented law regulations to define the level of education necessary for each profession in food industry.
