Abstract
The goal of the present study is to analyse the influence of English on Italian. The author begins the article with a chronological survey of the influence, giving prototypical examples for each period. He shows the quality and quantity change in English loan-words which process starts at the beginning of the 19th century. In the second part of the study the linguistic aspects of the loans are analysed.
