Abstract

DigKomp 2.2. responds to the challenges of digital technology by presenting digital competences in a complex way, including competences related to artificial intelligence.

Digital systems thus enable individuals to perform increasingly complex tasks, and therefore individuals with increasingly complex digital competences face ever greater challenges and opportunities (Larson & DeChurch, 2020) In their digital activities, they have to face new challenges every day, for which, according to Bandura's theory of social-cognitive learning, it is not enough to have digital competences, they also need to have the belief and conviction that they are capable and able to cope with new digital challenges. This belief can be identified with the concept of digital self-efficacy. This paper reviews the traditional conceptual framework of self-efficacy and develops the concept of digital self-efficacy.
