Abstract
Nowadays, all dimensions of education are noticeably changing: online education during the pandemic has introduced new platforms and methods, and the cognitive behaviour of new generations (Generation Z and Alpha) poses new challenges for educators. As a consequence, the traditional conceptualization of the teacher’s role also seems to be changing. In our study, we outline the implications of this educational transformation within the context of higher education and evaluate the post pandemic educational experiences with the involvement of students and instructors. Our survey research identifies desirable future directions for higher education and also evaluates the changing role of the teacher. Our results underscore that the key to the future of education continues to lie in personal engagement.
