Abstract
In my study, I would like to offer a possible critique of identity politics, based on aspects from natural law. First, I define what identity politics exactly means, its relation to ideologies and characteristics. Then I present the relationship between a specific ideology appearing in the form of identity politics, the new-right, and religion, and criticize it from the perspective of natural law, and finally I argue that - mainly in today's increasingly divided societies - there is a need for universal values standing above particular ideologies.
