Résumé

This paper is a study of neological processes of musicians' argot. The most powerful creative element is the metaphorical use of common terms, which represents two thirds of the examined corpus. The metaphor is also the base of lexicalization and compounding. Some typical processes, such as suffixation, back derivation, conversion, abbreviation and borrowing, exemplify formal neology. The most important aspects of neologism include verbal play and the linguistic deformation.
