The central focus of this study is the economic trial of István Juhász, a prominent entrepreneur and factory director in the post-World War II period. Juhász was the owner and technical expert of Gamma Finommechanikai és Optikai Művek Részvénytársaság (Gamma Works for Precision Mechanics and Optics Ltd.). Following the Second World War, he attempted to restore his business operations; however, deteriorating economic and political conditions hindered these efforts. On 19 March 1948, Juhász was arrested by the Economic Police Department on charges of embezzlement, smuggling, currency violations, and unauthorized trading.
